Hi, I'm Sarah!!

I am an aspiring teacher with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. My concentration is in Social Studies.  I absolutely love working with children and cannot wait to be teaching them each and every day, inspiring them to be the best they can be and achieve great things. Aside from teaching and being with kids, I also love to spend time with my friends and family, bake, be outdoors, play tennis, paint, play with animals, and watch Monday night football! I can't wait for you to get to know me even more! I will be available for hire as of May 2017.  I'm hoping to find a job either somewhere in the Boone area, or back home in High Point or Greensboro, NC. 

Teaching Experience:

Parkway Elementary School / Boone, NC

          Afterschool Field Experience tutoring and playing with K-5 kids, working mostly with Kindergarten and First graders.

Hudson Elementary School / Hudson, NC

          Block 1 Field Experience, assisting and observing in Angela Steele's first grade classroom.

Volunteer Work:

Boone Creek Cleanup / Fall 2014 and 2015

          This was apart of my Service Learning for the Reich College of Education

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Piedmont Triad / 2011-Present

          I volunteered as a "Big Sister" to a sweet third grade boy in high school and am still assisting with fundraisers and events.

Special Olympics Tennis Tournament / 2013-2014

Western Region NC Technology Student Association Conference (NCTSA) / February 2016; March 2016

          I volunteered as a judge of the high school children's stories category at both the regional and state competition.
